From Nothing to Something

In the midst of a global pandemic, young creative Tiye Alphonso took a leap of faith and tried her hand at sewing. Connecting to it more than she ever thought she would, she left her engineering program behind and turned her hobby into the business and brand now known as Tiye's Tingz. The works displayed in this portfolio showcase her creative and technical growth from 2020 to now, with internet platforms such as Youtube being her only source of fashion education.

Early Days (2020)

As the world was forced to lockdown Tiye decided to hone in on her budding craft. Starting off with hair bonnets and face masks, she worked her way up to dresses and two piece sets that she sold through facebook and instagram.

Elevation (2021-2022)

As the pandemic faded out, Tiye showed that she was here to stay. As her fashion knowledge grew and her skills evolved she dabbled into rhinestone dresses and prom gowns. She quickly became the go to person for custom birthday dresses for milestone birthdays.

Brand Building (2023-2024)

Realizing that fashion could be a real career, Tiye decided to put things in order to make things more professional and truly make Tiye's Tingz a brand. It was during this period that she found a design style that she wanted to build on.

No Bounds (2025-present)

Five years later, and many garments later, Tiye's Tingz is now a brand and not just a thought. The evolution of Tiye's designing capabilities can be seen as she now dabbles into corsets, beaded fabrics and structures. Each new design tells a story as each detail is meticulously thought out and strategically placed. The future of Tiye's Tingz has no bounds.
